Why should I donate to Mein Papa kommt? How does it help children?

A parent-child relationship that is maintained and strengthened after the separation of the parents is of central importance for the future development of the child, who has to cope with this significant change. Short distances to both parental homes foster this relationship. But, in Germany many children live hundreds of kilometres away from one parent. And far from every non-resident father and mother can afford the travelling and accommodation expenses that arise from the geographical distance. Many of them also lack a network of friends and family at the place of residence of the child. With your donation we make sure that more children can say: "Daddy / Mummy is coming".

How can I tell if the initiative Mein Papa kommt and the non-profit organisation Flechtwerk 2+1 gGmbH are trustworthy?
Mein Papa kommt is an initiative of the non-profit organisation Flechtwerk 2+1 gGmbH. Dr. Franziska Giffey, German Federal Minister of Family Affairs, is Patron of our initiative. The initiative was launched in 2008 and has ever since been awarded several prizes: in 2012 by German chancellor Angela Merkel with the German federal award of startsocial und in 2017 it was prize winner in the competition „Ausgezeichnete Orte im Land der Ideen“ (English = Excellent places in the land of ideas). Several donors and pro-bono partners have helped us to establish and further develop our initiative for children with two parental homes. We are signatory of Transparency International Deutschland e.V., who is the national chapter of Transparency International, a global civil society organisation leading the fight against corruption. Our latest annual impact report, which has been prepared according to Social Reporting Standards (SRS) gives you insight into the allocation of our funds.
Are you financed by public funds / grants?
No, our non-profit organisation does not receive public funding. Flechtwerk 2+1 gGmbH und Mein Papa kommt depend on private grants and donations as the proceeds from the membership fee do not yet cover our costs. Your donation allows us to exempt parents with financial difficulties from the membership fee and to further develop our service offer.
 Is my donation tax-deductible?
We can provide you with a donation receipt.
